Samcan Panggang Sambal Mata

Samcan Panggang:

  • 1 Pork belly
  • Five spices (China spices)
  • Garlic powder
  • salt

Sambal Mata:

  • Coconut oil
  • 3 big onions
  • 1 lime
  • 5 lime leaves
  • 1 garlic clove 
  • 1 lemongrass
  • salt


  1. Prepare the pork: wash and dry the skin with the kitchen paper. 
  2. Pre-heat the oven for 200 degrees.
  3. Cut the pork into big slices.
  4. Season with 5 spices (China spices) and garlic powder. Make sure all parts are seasoned! 
  5. Sprinkle the salt on the skin.
  6. Put in the oven for 1 hour. 
  7. Meanwhile prepare Sambal Mata. 
  8. Peel the onion and cut into thin slices. 
  9. Remove the lime leaves stalks and cut leaves and chili. 
  10. Peel the garlic. Finely chop it and lemongrass.
  11. Heat the coconut oil and fry garlic and lemongrass for just 30 sec. 
  12. Put everything in the bowl, add some salt and squish the lemon.
  13. Remove pork from the oven.
  14. Serve with rice.
